I discovered my love of photography quite by accident. When I was in high school, I signed up for an elective drama class. Back then, I was very quiet and reserved and on the first day I realized that this was way out of my comfort zone. I raced to my guidance counselor and begged to switch to some other elective. The only other class available was photography. Best decision ever! I loved it from the very beginning. The next year, I joined the yearbook staff and the following year, I was head photo editor.
When choosing my college major, the only subjects I even considered were photography related and I’ve had a camera in hand ever since.
I’m a midwestern girl from Ohio who lived in Los Angeles for 15 years before finally settling in Nashville at the end of 2014. I’ve been photographing weddings and events for the past 15 years and can’t imagine doing anything else.
When I’m not behind the camera, I am usually out exploring nature with my curious kids. Chasing waterfalls is our favorite activity and I feel so lucky that we are in a part of the country where there is a never ending supply of them to discover! Photographing an engagement session or elopement at one of middle Tennessee's amazing waterfalls is definitely on my career bucket list. I also really enjoy some quiet time with a good book, attempting (and often failing) a new recipe I found on Pinterest or just spending time with friends and family.
